Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads lost the rubber match to the Alaska Aces at the Bank of America Centre Saturday night in a shootout. Goals by the Aces' Chris Minard, Joe Talbot and Mike Scott put the game out of reach, with only Warren Peters scoring a shootout goal for the Steelheads. With the win, Alaska moves into a tie with Idaho for points with 21 atop the National Conference, West Division.

Both goaltenders, Idaho's Frank Doyle and Alaska's Peter Aubry, were perfect through regulation play and a five-minute sudden death overtime, denying the combined 58 shots (Alaska's 33 and Idaho's 25). Neither team could convert on the power play, with Idaho and Alaska each going 0-for-3.

The Steelheads now prepare for a trip to San Diego for their first visit this season. They'll play a three-game series December 3rd, 4th and 5th before returning home to the BofA Centre to face Las Vegas on December 10th and 11th.
