San Diego Gulls News Release

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Gulls looks to snap their four-game winless streak and climb back to the .500 mark when they take on the Fresno Falcons tonight at the Sports Arena.

SERIES HISTORY:

The Gulls and Falcons have met twice so far this season with the series split at one game apiece. The two teams will clash six more times during the regular season. San Diego and Fresno met 10 times last season with the Gulls holding a 7-3-0 edge.

2004-05 HEAD-TO-HEAD SERIES:
10/23/04 Fresno 2 @ San Diego 7
11/20/04 San Diego 2 @ Fresno 3

San Diego owns the all-time series match-up, posting a 71-30-6 record against its West Division rival. The Gulls are 40-11-3 all-time against the Falcons at the Sports Arena.

LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING (NOV. 20 @ FRE):

The Gulls out-shot Fresno 38-17, but thanks to rookie netminder Brett Jaeger and some timely goals, the Falcons skated away 3-2 winners. Shaun Sutter gave Fresno a 1-0 lead midway through the first period, finishing off a two-on-zero break with Jason Weaver. Guillaume Fournier tied it in the waning moments of the first, but Weaver's breakaway goal six minutes into the second put the Falcons back on top. Dan Tessier scored what proved to be the game winner 17:17 into the third period, cashing in a two-on-one break. Colin Shields scored his first professional goal 59 seconds later but that was as close as the Gulls could get. Jaeger, solid all game long, finished with 36 saves.
