Chiefs Sink Long Beach

Johnstown, PA- Brent Kelly had a goal and two assists Saturday night, to lead the Johnstown Chiefs to their second straight win, as they defeated the visiting Long Beach Ice Dogs 5-1 at the War Memorial Arena.

Dennis Packard scored his first professional goal in the second period, while Matt Reid also tallied the Chiefs first shorthanded goal of the season. Dmitri Tarabrin and Shawn Mather also scored the Johnstown goals. Long Beach's lone goal came from former NHL player Chris Kenady.

Chiefs goaltender David Currie played strong in goal making 27 saves. Long Beach goaltender Oliver Michaud made 23 saves in the contest.

The Chiefs climb to 7-3-6 on the season. Long Beach is now 9-7-0.

The Chiefs will take to the road next Friday night when they travel to Dayton for a 7:00 p.m. game versus the Bombers. Next Saturday night, the Chiefs will return home to face the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. Throughout the game, Dale Jarrett's #88 U.P.S. car and Elliott Sadler's #38 M&M car will be on display behind section 9. Game time is at 7:00 p.m.

Also, December 18th will be the annual Johnstown Chiefs/Power 99 and U.S. Marine Corps Toys For Tots Toy Toss. All fans are encouraged to bring a stuff toy to the game and when the Chiefs score their first goal, throw them onto the ice!
