BOISE, Idaho – Peter Aubry stopped all 25 shots he faced in regulation, then turned aside three of four in the shootout as Alaska edged Idaho 1-0 Saturday before 4,503 at the Bank of America Centre.

For the first time all season, the Aces played a scoreless game through 40 minutes, out-shooting the Steelheads 23-16 but again being frustrated by rookie goaltender Frank Doyle, who had shut Alaska out Wednesday 2-0. Doyle stopped Charles Linglet and Joe Talbot on breakaways late in the first period, while Aubry foiled a shorthanded breakaway for Idaho's Justin Cox in the second.

Neither team scored in the third period, either, although Aubry denied Frank Lukes on another breakaway. The Aces outshot the Steelheads 33-25, yet were forced to settle the issue in a shootout, where Chris Minard, Talbot, and Mike Scott beat Doyle to give Alaska (10-7-1) a share of first place with Idaho (10-5-1) at 21 points apiece.

Alaska returns home for next weekend's series against fifth-place Las Vegas (8-6-1) Friday and Saturday night at 7:15 p.m. The Aces defeated the Wranglers 5-3 in their only previous meeting November 9 in Vegas. Both games will be broadcast on flagship station KFQD 750 AM and also made available on a pay-per-view basis at www.alaskaaces.com, courtesy of B2 Networks. Coverage begins 20 minutes prior to the opening face-off.
