Steelheads Get Lammers From Iowa

Boise, ID - The Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL announced today rookie left winger John Lammers has been reassigned by their AHL affiliate, the Iowa Stars, and will be in the lineup tonight against the Alaska Aces.

A native of Newcastle, Ontario, Lammers played in 52 games with the Stars this season, totaling six goals and eight assists. After making his professional debut on October 7 in a 5-4 win at San Antonio, Lammers picked up his first professional points, netting one goal and one assist in his fourth game, an 8-5 win versus Syracuse on October 21.

Drafted by the Steelheads' NHL affiliate, the Dallas Stars, with the 86th overall pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Lammers jumped to the AHL after an impressive junior career in the WHL. Listed at 5'11", 185 lbs., the 21-year-old played in 186 contests with the Lethbridge Hurricanes, where he recorded 124 points from 2001-2005. In 2005-2006, Lammers enjoyed a breakout season with the Everett Silvertips, as he led them with 38 goals and 75 points in 70 games.
