Idaho Steelheads News Release

The Steelheads opened CenturyLink Arena in style on Friday night, earning their first win of the season with an 8-4 victory over the Utah Grizzlies. Five Steelheads- Caleb Herbert, Travis Ewanyk, Kellan Lain, Brandon Anselmini, and David Glen- scored their first goals in Idaho uniforms, while goaltender Landon Bow locked down his first professional win with a 20-save performance.

The Steelheads eight goals were their most in a game since December 16th of last season, also a home game against Utah. Now the two squads prepare for the final game of their season-opening, back-to-back, home-and-home four game series.

Third is the Word

The Steelheads found an offensive outburst Friday night, and again had their best period in the third. The Steelheads threw 13 pucks on the net and outscored the Grizzlies 5-1, that total including an empty-net goal by Kyle Jean in the final minute. The Steelheads have now outshot the Grizzlies 48-19 in the third period across their first three meetings of the season.

Line Clicking...

In their first game together, the Steelheads unit of Caleb Herbert, Rob Linsmayer, and Jefferson Dahl dominated. The line tallied two goals and the three combined for six points on the evening, as well as six shots. They struck first in the contest, forcing a turnover on the forecheck just 2:19 into the game for Herbert's first Steelheads goal.

100-Point Man

Rob Linsmayer's three-point night on Friday put him over 100 points for his professional career. Now Linsmayer sits one point shy of 100 in his Steelheads career. Linsmayer would become the 12th player to score 100 points in a Steelheads uniform during the ECHL era.
