CHECKING THE RIVALRY
The Mavericks are facing the Fuel tonight for the first of 3 meetings this season and the only contest at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. Missouri has a 6-1-0 all-time ECHL record against Indy, including a 5-0-0 record at home. All five of the prior meetings between these teams in Independence took place last season and the Mavericks out-scored the Fuel by a combined 20-13 margin. Each of those five games were decided by two goals or less. Missouri is looking for its first win of the season tonight while Indy is looking to rebound after its first loss in Tulsa last night. The Fuel bring in reigning ECHL Goalie of the Week, Jake Hildebrand, who was 2-0-0 last week with a .966 save percentage and 1.00 goals-against average.
HOME SWEET HOME
The Mavericks are back home tonight after starting the season with three straight on the road. Missouri went 29-6-1 at home last season (best home record in the league) and is 43-24-5 at home overall since joining the ECHL. The Mavericks also enjoyed playing in front of 12 sellout crowds on home ice last season. Following tonight is another four-game road trip for the Mavs before a four-game home stand in early November.
