Adirondack Thunder News Release

WHO: Manchester Monarchs (1-1-0-1) @ Adirondack Thunder (2-0-0-0)

WHAT: ECHL REGULAR SEASON GAME 46

WHEN: Saturday October 22, 2016 @ 7 PM

WHERE: Glens Falls Civic Center - Glens Falls, NY

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: Tonight's matchup sees North Division rivals Manchester and Adirondack square off, the third meeting of the season between the teams. Adirondack opened the season with a pair of victories last weekend in Manchester by 4-3 and 5-3 final scores. These teams met in Adirondack's home opener a season ago, with Adirondack coming out on top by a 4-2 final. The sides will meet a total of 16 times this season, including seven future meetings in Glens Falls.

TY-ING THE KNOT: The Thunder welcome forward Ty Loney to the team this season, after he split the 2015-16 campaign between the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL and the Wheeling Nailers in the ECHL. Loney tied a career best performance in his second game with the Thunder as he netted two goals, matching his total from October 16 of last season against the Evansville IceMen. A season ago in Wheeling, Loney reached the Kelly Cup Finals as he netted 18 points (7-11-18) in 26 playoff games.

THREE'S COMPANY: Adirondack saw two forwards, Peter MacArthur and Mikkel Aagaard, net three points in last Saturday's victory over Manchester. The two forwards each collected a goal and an assist in the victory. For MacArthur, the three-point effort marked the seventh time in his Thunder career he has collected three or more points, while Aagaard's points were the first of his professional career.

HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLFE: Forward Greg Wolfe had himself a two-point game in the Thunder's season opener to pace the Adirondack offense. Including his goal on Friday evening late in the second period, Wolfe has scored 7 goals in the final 3 minutes of a period against MAN in his Thunder career.

SATISFY THE KRAV-ING: The Thunder have signed forward Dennis Kravchenko to round out their current 23-man roster. Kravchenko had previously attended training camp with the Calgary Flames and Stockton Heat earlier this month. The 22-year old forward skated at UMass-Amherst for the past two seasons, where he amassed 61 points (22-39-61) in 68 games and he led the team in scoring as a freshman in the 2014-15 season.

KEEPING IT CLEAN: Last weekend's series between Adirondack and Manchester saw only 10 total penalty minutes over the two game set, which led to only one power-play for the Thunder. Adirondack was also perfect on the penalty kill over the weekend and the two teams will look for the first power-play goal of the series tonight.
