LOVELAND, CO. - Aces forward Stephen Perfetto netted a pair of goals and an assist, while fellow forward Tim Coffman accounted for two goals as Alaska knocked off Colorado 5-2 at the Budweiser Events Center on Saturday. The loss was the first of the season for the Eagles, who now sit at 3-1 on the year.

The Aces opened the scoring at the 7:03 mark of the first period when Coffman took a cross-slot pass from forward Garet Hunt and snapped it past Eagles goaltender Kent Simpson to give Alaska the 1-0 lead.

Colorado would come up with an answer less than seven minutes later, as defenseman Michael Sdao fielded a drop pass in the slot and rifled home his second goal of the season to knot the game at 1-1.

Alaska would reclaim the lead at the 5:34 mark of the second period when Perfetto spun a backhander by Simpson from the right circle to give the Aces the 2-1 edge.

Heading into the final frame, the Eagles would again pull back even as forward Casey Pierro-Zabotel chopped a loose puck on the side of the net over the shoulder of Aces goaltender Michael Garteig to tie the game at 2-2 with 14:12 remaining in regulation.

The Aces would jump back on top when forward Peter Sivak took a pass in the low slot and slammed it home to give Alaska the 3-2 lead at the 10:11 mark of the third. The Aces would add a little insurance as Coffman collected his second goal of the night from between the circles to make it 4-2 with just 2:00 left in the period. Perfetto would add an empty-netter with 45 seconds remaining to secure the 5-2 win for Alaska.

The Eagles will conclude their homestand when they host the Rapid City Rush on Wednesday, October 26th at 7:05pm.
