BOISE, ID- The Idaho Steelheads (16-15-8) fought back from a 4-1 deficit to force overtime before falling by a 6-5 score to the Victoria Salmon Kings (15-20-3) before a crowd of 4,459 at Qwest Arena. Mark Derlago scored twice in the Steelheads' win. Idaho is currently unbeaten-in-regulation in three straight games.

Chad Painchaud opened the scoring for Victoria less than three minutes into the first period, but Mark Derlago evened the score at 1-1 on a shot from point blank at 7:28 of the opening period with Idaho on the power play. Evan Barlow and Kael Mouillierat assisted on Derlago's 18th of the season.

The second period saw Victoria net three goals, as Adam Taylor, Ryan Turek, and Matt Butcher all found the back of the net for the Salmon Kings in the middle frame. After two periods, the Steelheads trailed 4-1 and had pulled starting goalie Jase Weslosky in favor of Mike Zacharias, but found the scoring formula in the third period when Geoff Irwin began the comeback with his third goal of the season on a shot from the side of the net at 5:23; Barlow earned the assist on Irwin's goal.

Cody Purves banged home the rebound from a Cody Lampl point shot at 10:27 of the third period with Idaho on the power play to pull the Steelheads to within a goal; Aki Seitsonen also assisted on Purves' fifth goal of the season.

Kael Mouillierat tied the game at 4-4 when he received a pass at the side of the net, deked to the front of the goal, and fired a backhand along the ice for his 16th of the season- assisted by Barlow- at 11:44 of the third period.

Mark Derlago was in the perfect place on the ice to find possession of a bouncing puck off the end boards in the offensive zone when he quickly snapped a puck over the goal line to give Idaho a lead, 5-4, with his second goal of the game and 19th of the season- assisted by Weston Tardy and Steve Oleksy- at 15:08 of the third period on the power play.

Victoria answered 26 seconds later when Peter Vandermeer snapped a puck into the Idaho goal to tie the game at 5-5 on a wrist shot from the bottom of the right cirle to force overtime.

Rick Cleaver scored on a one-timer from the slot after receiving a pass from Tim Kraus at 1:53 of overtime to secure the win for Victoria.

Jase Weslosky started the game for Idaho and turned away 10 of 14 shots; he was relieved by Mike Zacharias, who stopped six of eight Victoria shots, and became the goalie of record. With the overtime loss, Zacharias' record moves to 7-7-5 in net. David Shantz turned away 29 of 34 shots for Victoria; he is now 11-14-3.
