
Bridgeport Signs LW Jason Pitton to PTO

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks, announced left winger Jason Pitton (PITT-in) has been loaned from the Thunder to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League on a professional tryout agreement (PTO).
Pitton, 24, is expected to be available to suit up for Bridgeport today, who visit Norfolk at 4:30 p.m.
The 6-foot-2, 230-pound forward is tied for third on the Thunder with 19 points (7g-12a) in 26 games, additionally posting a +5 rating and 53 penalty minutes.
Pitton heads to the AHL for the third time this season, previously suiting up 10 games with Worcester and Manitoba, collecting two assists and nine penalty minutes.
He was originally selected by the New York Islanders in the eighth round (244th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, and has scored 32 points (15g-17a) in 171 career AHL games with Bridgeport, Springfield, Manitoba and Worcester.
The native of Brampton, Ontario has scored 56 points (23g-33a) and 23 goals along with 130 penalty minutes in 87 career ECHL games with the Thunder and Utah Grizzlies.
Additionally, the Thunder activated center Jordan Foreman off the injured reserve list. Foreman has suited up in 13 games this season, collecting four points (1g-3a) and 39 penalty minutes.
The Thunder heads back to the road for its next game tonight, visiting the Grizzlies at Maverik Center at 6:05 p.m. The game can be heard on radio at 1280 AM KWSX and viewed live on the internet (pay-per-view video charge) at www.StocktonThunder.com, courtesy of AmericaOne.
