Steelheads announce opening day roster

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads today announced its 2004-05 Opening Day roster which will take to the ice Friday night (October 22nd) in defence of the ECHL National Kelly Cup Championship. The roster includes 15 forwards, 6 defensemen, and 2 goaltenders - 3 players will begin the season on the injured reserve list.
Fans will see nine familiar faces from last season's championship team - forwards Ben Keup, Scott Burt, Warren Peters, Brett Draney, Lance Galbraith, and defensemen Dan Vandermeer, Jeremy Mylymok, David Cornacchia and Darrell Hay - as well as two memorable players who were on Idaho's 2002-03 roster - defenseman Petr Suchanek and forward Marty Flichel.
This season roster features four players on NHL Phoenix Coyotes contracts - forwards Ladislav Kouba, Frank Lukes, Landon Bathe, Darren McLachlan, as well as three who are on AHL Utah Grizzlies contracts - defensemen Petr Suchanek and Peter Metcalf and goaltender Frank Doyle.

On Opening Night, players from last season's team will be presented with their championship rings by Governor Dirk Kempthorne in a pregame ceremony, and the championship banner will be unfurled. Tickets are available for this weekend's games against the Alaska Aces at the Bank of America Centre Box Office, by visiting any Select-A-Seat outlet, by calling 331-TIXS (8497), or through the Steelheads website by logging on to www.idahosteelheads.com. Prices range from $7.00 to $28.00.
