
IceGators Open 10th Anniversary Season

Lafayette, LA â The Louisiana IceGators will begin their 10th anniversary season Friday night, October 22, 2004, when they travel to Biloxi to take on their arch-rivals, the Mississippi Sea Wolves at 7:35pm. The IceGators begin the year with a new Head Coach, Todd Gordon, and only two returning players, Max Fortunus and Alex Materukhin from the 2003-04 Central Division championship team.
The IceGators roster as of 5pm, October 21 consists of the following:
Goaltenders: Kyle Kettles, Tyler Masters
Defensemen: Josh Barker, Randy Dagenais, Maxime Fortunus, Doug Mac Iver, Jake Ortmeyer
Forwards: David Bararuk, John Evangelista, Roger Leonard, Wes Mason, Alex Materukhin, Mike Omicioli, Pascal Pelletier, Bryan Perez, Mark Rooneem, Shawn Skiehar, Chris Thompson.
"I am very excited to get this season underway" said Gordon. "Training camp was a success with our new players coming together as a team. It's now time to play for real and find out just how good this team will be."

The IceGators and Sea Wolves also announced a ticket sales initiative to benefit fans of both teams. Called "The Rivalry Six Pack" , this offer gives fans of each team a special discount when they travel to the opposing rink. Both IceGators and Sea Wolves fan can buy vouchers to any of the six road games at a discount rate of 6 vouchers for $54 dollars. These vouchers can be redeemed for any IceGators-Sea Wolves contests. IceGators fans' vouchers are good for Section 24 in the Mississippi Coast Coliseum while Sea Wolves enthusiasts can sit anywhere in the 200 level of the Cajundome, while seats are available.
