Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, have announced that they have acquired forward Jason Notermann from the Peoria Rivermen in exchange for defenseman James Sanford. Atlantic City will open the 2004-05 season with 19 players on its active roster and one on injured reserve.
Notermann, 24, finished third in scoring for the Johnstown Chiefs and 11th overall among ECHL rookies in 2003-04 with 25 goals and 54 points in 69 games. He was selected to the 2004 ECHL All-Star Game where he tallied a goal in the Eastern Conference's 7-6 win. The Rochester, MN native posted 17 multiple point games last season and tallied a point in 12 out of Johnstown's final 18 games. Notermann was a four-year standout at the University of North Dakota, winning the NCAA National Championship in 2000 as a member of the Fighting Sioux.
With the addition of Notermann, the Bullies have released forward Gray Shaneberger and defenseman Ben Wallace to set their opening day roster.
Atlantic City opens the season with 11 forwards, 6 defenseman, and 2 goaltenders. Of the 20 total players on the roster, there are two veterans and eight rookies. Forward Kelsey Muench begins his professional career on the 30-day injured reserve. Second-year center Josh Prudden remains on loan to Cleveland of the American Hockey League.
