Tri-City Storm News Release
Lincoln, Ne. - The Lincoln Stars scored a pair of goals in the first and second against the Tri-City Storm to win, 4-0, Friday from the Ice Box.
Peyton Jones recorded his league leading third shutout of the season, stopping all 24 Storm shots.
Tri-City allowed just a pair of shots in the opening ten minutes of the game before Lincoln's offensive motor flipped on. At the 10:39 mark of the first, Pat Polino opened the scoring with a left circle shot that beat Jake Kielly, who made 24 saves in defeat.
Less than four minutes later, with 4:44 left in the first, Jack Badini deflected a shot past Kielly from the right side, the Harvard commit's second of the season.
At the end of the first, the Storm held a 10-8 shot advantage on the Stars.
Tri-City flung eight shots on Jones in the second, but could not score. Lincoln scored twice in the second, the first from Will D'Orsi at the 7:06 mark of the second on the power play.
Christian Evers ripped home third of the season from Ryan Jones and Ludvig Hoff to give the Stars a 4-0 lead.
Storm Captain Tory Dello fought Carson Gicewicz at the 2:58 mark of the third, Tri-City's first fighting major of the season.
