Lincoln, Neb. - Stars goaltender Peyton Jones stopped all 24 shots he saw to lead the Stars to a 4-0 win against the Tri-City Storm Friday night at the Ice Box.
Lincoln jumped out to an early lead in the first period taking a 2-0 lead.
Stars forward Patrick Polino found twine with a drive in slot at the 10:39 mark of the opening frame. Forward Jack Badini then gave the stars a 2-0 lead before intermission on a redirection at 15:16 of the period.
Lincoln added two more goals in the second to give them a 4-0 lead at the second intermission.
Forward Will D'Orsi scored on the power play at the 7:06 mark of the middle frame. Defenseman Christian Evers then made it 4-0 when he cashed in at the 19:20 mark of the period, scoring on a wrist shot from the point.
Neither team would score in the third period, giving the Stars a 3-0 win and helping them improve to 12-3-0 and 3-0-0 against the Storm this season.
Lincoln returns to action Saturday, November 14th in Waterloo. Puck drop against the Black Hawks is set for 7:05 pm.
