
Stars Set Record for Highest Scoring Game as a Franchise

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, defeated the G League Ignite 158-99 tonight at the Maverik Center, setting a new franchise record for most points scored against an opponent.
Utah Jazz assignment player Brice Sensabaugh led the way for the Stars for the second-straight game, scoring 25 points on 7-of-10 (.700) from the field and 4-of-6 (.667) from beyond the arc. Utah Jazz two-way player Josh Christopher finished with 17 points, four rebounds, three steals, six assists and one block. Taylor Hendricks, currently on assignment from the Utah Jazz, posted 19 points on 7-of-15 (.467) from the field. He also tallied three blocks, five rebounds, and three steals in 27 minutes.
The Ignite were led by veteran John Jenkins, who finished with a team-high 20 points on 7-of-12 (.583) from the field. The guard also tallied five assists, three rebounds and two steals. Babacar Sane recorded 17 points and 3 rebounds off the bench. Tyler Smith also added 15 points, four rebounds, four assists, and four blocks.
The Stars took an early lead and never looked back in this game. They were up by as much as 23 points in the first half and remained in the driver's seat for the entire game thanks to their efficiency from three-point range, outshooting the Vipers 18-10 from three-point range. In the second half, Ignite's turnover struggles continued, and their comeback effort was stifled by 8 turnover in the fourth quarter.
The Stars shot 56.2 percent to the Ignite 44.7 percent and held the advantage in rebounds (49-35), assists (39-23) and steals (24-8). The Stars knocked down more three-pointers (18-10), grabbed more steals (24-8) and committed fewer turnovers (19-34).
The Stars will remain in Salt Lake City for back-to-back home games against the Stockton Kings, the first game will be tomorrow Tuesday, Nov. 14. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. (MT) and can be streamed on Jazz+. The Stars play the Kings again at the Maverik Center on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. (MT).
