
Ignite Suffers Tough Road Loss to Salt Lake City

HENDERSON, Nev. - NBA G League Ignite (0-3) suffered its largest loss in program history to the Salt Lake City Stars (1-1), 158-99, on Monday at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah.
John Jenkins led the way for Ignite after finishing with 20 points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals while shooting 7-of-12 from the field, including 5-of-9 from the three-point line. Babacar Sane followed with 17 points and three rebounds, while Tyler Smith tallied 15 points, four rebounds, four assists and four blocks.
Brice Sensabaugh paced the Stars with 25 points, five rebounds and five assists while shooting 7-of-10 from the field, including 4-of-6 from behind the arc. Michael Devoe recorded 21 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. The Stars had five other players who finished in double figures, including Taylor Hendricks (19), Isaiah Miller (19), Josh Christopher (17), Micah Potter (16) and Taevion Kinsey (13).
In a back-and-forth first quarter that saw 10 lead changes, Ignite seemed to be firing on all cylinders after shooting 50 percent from the field, including 55.6 percent from the three-point line. The Stars were able to outlast Ignite's hot start behind Brice Sensabaugh, who scored 9 of his 25 in the opening frame. Ignite's struggles began in the second quarter after being outscored in the frame 33-17. The Stars built a 23-point lead in the second and never looked back for the remainder of the game. The Stars continued to shoot the lights out in the second half en route to a 61-point lead in the fourth quarter and coasting to the victory. The Stars shot 56.2 from the field, including 45 percent from the three-point line.
