Capital City's Comeback Effort Falls Short

The Capital City Go-Go fell to the Delaware Blue Coats, 120-116, at the Entertainment and Sports Arena on Monday night.

Capital City had a balanced scoring effort in the first quarter and led the Blue Coats, 29-23, to begin the game. The team fell back in the second quarter, with the Go-Go outscored by the Blue Coats, 39-23, and ended the half trailing 62-52. The Go-Go were down by as much as 19 points in the third quarter but went on a 22-8 run to bring the score within five. The Go-Go continued fighting throughout the second half, trailing by only two points with 2:05 remaining in the game, but ultimately fell short and lost to the Blue Coats 120-116.

Devon Dotson led the Go-Go with 29 points, his most since March 10, 2022. Jules Bernard also had a big night with a near triple-double performance of 25 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists, securing his second-straight double-double, the fourth of his career, while leading the team in rebounds and assists. Hamidou Diallo (19), Gabe Kalscheur (12) and DeJon Jarreau (10) also scored in double-figures.

Delaware's Javonte Smart led the night in points and assists with 33 points and 10 assists. Melvin Frazier Jr. also secured a double-double, leading the night in rebounds with 15 boards while scoring 13 points. Terquavion Smith scored 25 points off the bench for the Blue Coats.

The Go-Go will face the Blue Coats in a rematch on Wednesday, November 15 at 11:30 a.m. at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.
