
Stars Fall to Kings in First Home Loss of the Season

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, were defeated by the Stockton Kings142-99 in their first loss at the Maverik Center this season.
*Michael Devoe *entered the night leading the G League in field goal percentage. Tonight, Devoe came off the bench and led the way for the Stars, scoring 16 points on 5-of-10 (.500) from the field. *Taylor Hendricks*, on assignment from the Utah Jazz, flashed his range, finishing with 11 points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal. Jazz two-way player *Johnny Juzang*, made his 2023-24 season debut, returning from a hip injury. The two-way guard put up 13 points on 4-of-10 (.400) from the field. Utah Jazz assignment player *Brice Sensabaugh *tallied his first double-double of the season, with 10 rebounds and 11 points.
The Kings were led by veteran forward Jeremy Lamb. The veteran finished with a team-high 20 points on 9-of-13 (.692) from the field. The 31-year-old forward also tallied five assists, three rebounds and two steals. The Sacramento Kings 34th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Colby Jones, recorded 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists in his G League debut.
The Stars fell behind in the first quarter and were unable to overcome the deficit. They closed out the first quarter down by 24 points. In the second half, the Stars turnover struggles continued, allowing ten points off eight turnovers in the third.
The Kings led, shooting at a 56.2 percent clip to the Stars 40 percent and were out rebounded (48-41), assists (34-24) and steals (18-5). The Kings knocked down more three-pointers (14-10), grabbed more steals (24-8) and committed fewer turnovers (12-25).
The Stars will remain in Salt Lake City for the second leg of their back-to-back with the Stockton Kings at the Maverik Center on Thursday, Nov. 16. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. (MT) and can be streamed on Jazz+.
