SAN ANTONIO, TX - The Iowa Stars played game five of their six-game road trip against the Rampage in San Antonio, Texas Friday night. Iowa snapped their short two-game losing-streak and posted a 3-2 shootout victory over the Rampage. Iowa's Endicott redeemed himself, evening the score at one early in the second period. Endicott notched his fifth goal of the season, a five-on-three power-play goal, when he collected a rebound off a Junior Lessard shot just 3:29 into the period. Rampage rookie Ryan Garlock gave the hometown team a 2-1 lead less than seven minutes later. Iowa fired 15 shots on San Antonio netminder Josh Tordjman, San Antonio had four shots on Iowa goalie Dan Ellis in the period.

The Stars tied the score at two just over two minutes into the third period. Janos Vas registered his 12th goal of the season when he scored on a wrap-around shot. Rookie Kelly Czuy (chew-EE), his first AHL point, and Mark Fistric had the assists. Iowa netminder Dan Ellis stopped all eight shots in the period to send the game into a five-minute sudden-death overtime period.

Iowa carried a majority of the play, out-shooting the Rampage six to one in the overtime session, but they were unable to solve the rookie San Antonio netminder, Josh Tordjman.

Iowa's Mark Ardelan, celebrating his 24th birthday today, scored the lone goal in the shootout and Dan Ellis stopped all five San Antonio shooters, to give Iowa the win and the much-needed two points. Overall, Ellis stopped 22 shots.
