Stars Announce 2019-20 Season Schedule

August 26, 2019 - NBA G League (G League)
Salt Lake City Stars News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, will tip-off their fourth campaign on Sunday, Nov. 10 on the road and return to Salt Lake City for the home opener on Friday, Nov. 15 against the defending NBA G League Champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers (Houston Rockets affiliate).

Stars Head Coach Martin Schiller returns to lead the team this season, beginning his third year at the helm. The club enjoyed its most successful campaign in Utah under Schiller in 2018-19, posting a 27-23 (.540) record and earning the franchise's first playoff berth in the Salt Lake City Era (since 2016-17).

The Stars will host 24 home games in 2019-20, primarily at Bruin Arena on the campus of Salt Lake Community College in Taylorsville. For the third-straight season, select games will be held at Vivint Smart Home Arena, home of the Utah Jazz. A full breakdown of game venues and the team's promotional schedule will be furnished prior to the season.

Thirteen of the Stars' home games fall on a Friday or Saturday evening. All Stars home games will tip-off at 7 p.m. (MT).

The Stars' 50-game schedule begins with a road-heavy stretch, as the team plays five of their first seven games away from Salt Lake City in November. The Stars will travel for 24 total away games this season and two contests will be played at the NBA G League Winter Showcase in December. Details on the Winter Showcase will be provided at a later date.

The Stars will play six back-to-back sets in 2019-20 (three home/home, three away/away). The team's longest homestand is a six-game stretch from Jan. 22-Feb. 3, including back-to-back nights on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 against the Oklahoma City Blue in a rematch of the First Round of the 2019 NBA G League Playoffs. The month of January features eight home games, the most in any month on the Stars' schedule.

The Stars' schedule features two four-game road trips (Feb. 24-29, March 11-18), the team's longest span away from home. The Stars play six of the season's final eight games on the road, with the season finale coming at home on Friday, March 27 against the Stockton Kings (Sacramento Kings affiliate).

The Stars' roster is highlighted by 2019 Utah Jazz draftees Jarrell Brantley (50th overall) and Justin Wright-Foreman (53rd overall), who signed with the Jazz as two-way players on July 16. The pair will split their time between the Jazz and Stars this season.

Stars games will be streamed live on the Salt Lake City Stars Facebook page. Home games will also be broadcast live on The Zone Sports Network (1280 AM, 97.5 FM), with veteran play-by-play announcer Steve Brown on the call.
