Nba G League Tips Off 2019-20 Season On November 8

NEW YORK - The NBA G League today released its complete game schedule for the 2019-20 regular season, which will tip off on Friday, Nov. 8.

A record 28 teams will compete in the NBA G League's 19th season. Each team will play a 50-game schedule with 24 home games, 24 road games and two games at the annual NBA G League Winter Showcase. Location and dates for the Showcase games will be announced at a later date.

Each team will play between two and four games against every conference opponent and a total of four or five games against non-conference opponents. The regular season will conclude on Saturday, March 28. The 2020 NBA G League Playoffs will begin no earlier than Tuesday, March 31.

As part of the 2019-20 schedule, the number of back-to-back games for teams has been reduced to an all-time low. Teams will play an average of 6.0 back-to-backs this season, a 9.1 percent reduction from 6.6 per team last season. In addition, no team is scheduled to play a stretch with four games in five nights for the third consecutive season.

The 2019-20 campaign is the first for the New Orleans Pelicans as NBA G League owners. The Pelicans' NBA G League affiliate will play in Erie as the BayHawks beginning this season. The College Park Skyhawks (Atlanta Hawks) will relocate to Georgia to play in a new city with a new team name.

The BayHawks open their inaugural season by hosting the Skyhawks on Friday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. ET.

The 2019 NBA G League Champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers (Houston Rockets) begin defense of their title by visiting the Austin Spurs (San Antonio Spurs) on Friday, Nov. 8 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

The 2019-20 NBA G League broadcast schedule will be available at a later date.

To accommodate the NBA G League's continued growth, the six divisions have been adjusted for the 2019-20 season.

Eastern Conference

Atlantic Division: Delaware Blue Coats (Philadelphia 76ers), Long Island Nets (Brooklyn Nets), Maine Red Claws (Boston Celtics), Raptors 905 (Toronto Raptors) and Westchester Knicks (New York Knicks)

Central Division: Canton Charge (Cleveland Cavaliers), Fort Wayne Mad Ants (Indiana Pacers), Grand Rapids Drive (Detroit Pistons), Wisconsin Herd (Milwaukee Bucks) and Windy City Bulls (Chicago Bulls)

Southeast Division: College Park Skyhawks (Atlanta Hawks), Capital City Go-Go (Washington Wizards), Erie BayHawks (New Orleans Pelicans), Greensboro Swarm (Charlotte Hornets) and Lakeland Magic (Orlando Magic)

Western Conference

Midwest Division: Iowa Wolves (Minnesota Timberwolves), Oklahoma City Blue (Oklahoma City Thunder), Memphis Hustle (Memphis Grizzlies) and Sioux Falls Skyforce (Miami Heat)

Southwest Division: Austin Spurs (San Antonio Spurs), Rio Grande Valley Vipers (Houston Rockets), Salt Lake City Stars (Utah Jazz) and Texas Legends (Dallas Mavericks)

Pacific Division: Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario (LA Clippers), Northern Arizona Suns (Phoenix Suns), Santa Cruz Warriors (Golden State Warriors), South Bay Lakers (Los Angeles Lakers) and Stockton Kings (Sacramento Kings)
