Santa Cruz Warriors Announce 2019-20 Season Schedule
August 26, 2019 - NBA G League (G League)
Santa Cruz Warriors News Release
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The NBA G League announced today that the Santa Cruz Warriors will begin the 2019-20 season, presented by Kaiser Permanente, on Friday, November 8 when the team faces the Stockton Kings at 7:00 p.m. at the Stockton Arena. The following night, Santa Cruz will host their home opener at Kaiser Permanente Arena against the Pacific Division rival Kings on Saturday, November 9 at 7:00 p.m.
The Santa Cruz Warriors schedule includes 23 home games at Kaiser Permanente Arena and a March 14, 2020 home game against the Austin Spurs (3:00 p.m. tip-off) at Chase Center, the Golden State Warriors' new 18,064-seat privately financed sports and entertainment arena in San Francisco's Mission Bay neighborhood.
Santa Cruz's 2019-20 schedule features just five sets of back-to-back games, the lowest amount in franchise history, including a season-ending back-to-back at Kaiser Permanente Arena on March 27 against the Texas Legends and March 28 against the South Bay Lakers. The team will host a six-game homestand at Kaiser Permanente Arena from January 18 to February 5. Every 2019-20 Santa Cruz Warriors home game will include a giveaway for the first time in franchise history.
A record 28 teams will compete in the NBA G League's 19th season, with each team playing a 50-game schedule that concludes in March 2020. For the third consecutive season, stretches where teams play four games in five nights have been eliminated. The number of back-to-back games has been reduced to an all-time low, with teams playing an average of 6.0 back-to-backs this season, a 9.1 percent reduction from an average of 6.6 per team last season.
