
Stankowski Backstops Hitmen to Shutout Win

Calgary, AB - Calgary Hitmen goaltender, Carl Stankowski, recorded his first Western Hockey League shutout against the Medicine Hat Tigers, turning away 33 shots Sunday at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Rookie Adam Kydd scored both Calgary markers in a first star performance, including one on the power play, notching his first WHL goal.
The victory wraps up the Hitmen's three-in-three weekend with a perfect 3-0 record.
Medicine Hat, who outshot Calgary 33-30, were not able to capitalize on the power play going 0-2 while the Hitmen were 1-3.
Calgary returns to the Scotiabank Saddledome next Sunday for a 2:00 p.m. matinee against the Portland Winterhawks. It's Sunday Funday presented by Ricky's All Day Grill which includes face painters, concourse activities, giveaways and a post-game family skate that is FREE with a game ticket.
