Sioux Falls, S.D. - Powered by a four-goal third period, the Stampede beat the Stars, 4-2, in Sioux Falls on Friday.

Neither team scored in the first period as the Stampede took an 11-7 shot advantage into the first intermission.

The Stars opened the scoring on the power play in the second period when Ludvig Hoff fired a wrist shot from the slot to beat Stampede goalie Stefanos Lekkas glove side. Tanner Laczynski and Trevor Hamilton earned assists on the play.

Grant Jozefek added to the lead 52 second into the third period to make it 2-0. Collin Peters was credited with the assist.

Sioux Falls powered back with four goals in the third period to bury the Stars and earn their first win in six games.

Virtanen finished with 27 saves.
