Stampede Select Jason Ellis with Team's First Choice

BOISE, Idaho, November 3, 2011 - The NBA Development League Draft was held earlier today, with the Idaho Stampede selecting 9 players, including Jason Ellis (6-7, 200, Boise State) with the 23rd overall selection, in the second round.

Ellis originally from Kentridge, WA, attended Boise State for 2001-05. He earned WAC All-Defensive Team honors in 2005. Ellis spent the 2007-08 season with the Stampede. He averaged 5.4 points and 5.1 rebounds in 37 games. He also played in Switzerland and the EuroCup Challenege.

The next 8 selections made by the Stampede were: Kevin Galloway (6-7, 215 Kentucky), Kendall Dartez (6-10, 225, Louisville), Cheyne Gadsen (6-3, 190, Oklahoma State), Eric Devendorf (6-4, 175, Syracuse), Courtney Pigram (6-1, 195, Eastern Tennessee State), James Wright (6-0, 165, Colorado), Desmond Blue (6-11, 260, Lee), and Dwain Williams (6-0, 175, Hawaii).

The team's selection of Kevin Galloway came as the result of a trade with the Erie BayHawks.

Galloway, Dartez and Devendorf had notable college careers. Galloway was 4th in the nation for assist and averaged around 8.4 points a game. Dartez averaged 6.4 points a game with a 58.3 field goal percentage. Eric Devendorf had a career 1680 points as well as 374 assists.
