Reno Bighorns News Release

RENO, NEV.- The Reno Bighorns, affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, Memphis Grizzlies and Atlanta Hawks, have announced that local basketball coach Jason Glover will be the associate head coach of the Bighorns for the 2011-2012 season.

Glover returns to the Bighorns after a one-year absence while working as an assistant coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Glover worked as an assistant coach for the Bighorns during the team's first two seasons under Jay Humphries. He also worked as Pat Foster's top assistant for the University of Nevada from 1993-1999. He is currently the Executive Director of the Nevada Basketball Academy.

"I am excited to have Coach Glover return to the Reno Bighorns," said Reno Bighorns' owner Herb Santos, Jr. "His experience as a coach in the D-League, with the Nevada Wolf Pack, and especially this last year as Player Development Coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA, will set our coaching staff apart as one of the most experienced in the D-League."

Filling out the coaching staff will be assistant coaches Richie Frahm, Carlnel Wiley and Jeff Christensen, as well as Athletic Trainer Jervae Odom.

Frahm enters his first season on the Bighorns coaching staff, previously playing for the Bighorns during the team's first two seasons, averaging 16 points per game. A four-year NBA veteran, Frahm played for five NBA teams including the Seattle Supersonics, where he scored 31 points in a game as a rookie.

Wiley returns for his second straight season with the Bighorns, serving as the Basketball Operations Assistant during the 2010-2011 season. He had previously served as the Director of Basketball Operations at Montana State University.

Christensen comes to the Bighorns with two years of D-League experience, previously working with the Bakersfield Jam. He played college basketball at Eastern Washington and spent last season playing basketball in Norway. Christensen spends his summers working with numerous professional and collegiate basketball players.

Odom returns to the Bighorns after previously serving as the athletic trainer for the team during the 2009-2010 season. He spent last season working for the NBA D-League Champion Iowa Energy. Previously, he spent one NBA and one NFL season with the Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Vikings as a seasonal athletic trainer.

The Bighorns tip off their regular season on the road on Friday, Nov. 25, when the team visits the Bakersfield Jam, affiliate of the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors. The team will return to Reno to host its first home game of the season against the Jam at the Reno Events Center on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7pm.
