Stampede Acquire Carter, White

BOISE, Idaho, December 28, 2011 - The Idaho Stampede announced today they have acquired Paul Carter (6-8, 203, Illinois-Chicago) and Terrico White (6-5, 213, Mississippi).

Carter, born June 2, 1987, was added to the Utah Jazz training camp roster on Dec. 13, 2011. Carter finished college at the University of Illinois-Chicago after attending the University of Minnesota for two years and a year at Missouri State-West Plains Junior College. Carter was named to the 2011 Horizon League All-Newcomer team in 2010-11 after averaging 14.7 points, 8.0 rebound and 1.9 assists. Before signing with Utah, Carter played briefly in the country of Cyprus. Carter will wear jersey No. 21.

White was added to the training camp roster of the New Orleans Hornets before this season after sitting out all of 2010-11 due to a fractured foot with the Detroit Pistons, who selected him 36th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft. Born March 7, 1990, White went to the University of Mississippi from 2008-10 and was named the SEC Freshman of the Year after the 2008-09 season. In his two years there, White averaged 14.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. White will wear jersey No. 6 with the Stampede.

In order to make room on the roster, the Stampede waived Willie Jenkins due to injury (jaw) and Kevin Galloway due to personal reasons.
