
D-Fenders Acquire Mardy Collins and 2012 Draft Pick from Iowa Energy

EL SEGUNDO - The Los Angeles D-Fenders have acquired 6-foot-6 guard Mardy Collins and an 8th-round 2012 NBA Development League Draft pick from the Iowa Energy, it was announced today by General Manager Glenn Carraro. In exchange, the D-Fenders sent their third round pick as well as Tulsa's original third round pick (previously acquired in the Elijah Millsap trade) in the 2012 NBA D-League Draft.
Selected in the first round (29th overall) by New York in the 2006 NBA Draft, Collins, who was acquired by the Energy after participating in the Washington Wizards training camp, has played in 189 games (31 starts) over four NBA seasons for the Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers, averaging 3.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists. Most recently, Collins played with the Jiangsu Nangang Dragons (China-CBA) before joining the Wizards preseason roster.
