Erie, Pennsylvania, Wednesday, December 28 - The Erie BayHawks dazzled their home crowd on Wednesday night going wire-to-wire to defeat the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, 109-94.

Erie jumped out to an early 8-0 lead and never looked back as six Erie players scored in double figures, including three players off the bench.

Erie center Chris Daniels, in his first game back after attending the Los Angeles Lakers training camp, notched 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in the first frame to help the BayHawks take a 32-21 lead after one. A nearly even second frame helped Erie make it in to halftime with a 12-point margin, 57-45, with Erie guard Mike Gerrity notching 12 of his 14 points in the first half.

The Mad Ants made their fiercest charge in the third quarter coming within 3 points, 68-65, with 4:28 to play. However, after an Erie timeout, the BayHawks went on a 17-7 run to end the frame up 85-72.

Fort Wayne chipped away at the lead once again in the fourth to pull within 5 with five minutes to play. But Erie again held off the visitors by finishing out the game on a 13-3 run to land their second home win of the season.

Erie (5-8) forward D.J. Kennedy notched a double-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and added 6 assists, while teammate Kyle Goldcamp joined him with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists off the bench. Kyle Spain dropped in 17, while Daniels added 15 and B.J. Jenkins chipped in 12.

Fort Wayne (4-7) was lead by Ron Howard with 24 points, Walker Russell, Jr. added 22 and Darnell Lazare chipped in 14.

Erie hosts the Los Angeles D-fenders on Thursday at 7pm at Tullio Arena, while Fort Wayne will play host to the D-fenders on Friday.
