Dyson and Owens Return to Tulsa

TULSA, Okla., Dec. 28, 2011 - The Tulsa 66ers, proud affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder, announced today that guard Jerome Dyson and forward Larry Owens have rejoined the team after stints in NBA training camps. To make room for the returning players, the 66ers have waived forward Ben Colon and forward Curtis Sumpter due to injury. Tulsa's active roster now stands at 10 players.

Dyson played in six games (all starts) and averaged 19.7 points, 3.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 steals with the 66ers this season before accepting an invitation to participate in the New Orleans Hornets training camp on Dec. 9. Dyson appeared in one preseason game with the Hornets on Dec. 21 against the Memphis Grizzlies and recorded five points, one rebound and one assist in seven minutes of action.

Owens, who recently participated in training camp and appeared in one preseason game with the Washington Wizards, played the last two seasons with the 66ers. In 2010-11, Owens played in 50 games (all starts) and averaged 15.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.5 steals. Last season, the Oral Roberts product earned two GATORADE Call-ups with the San Antonio Spurs and Washington Wizards.

Dyson (No. 11) and Owens (No. 32) will be in uniform Thursday night when the 66ers host the Idaho Stampede at 7 p.m. CT inside the Tulsa Convention Center.
