Jerrett and Shakur Receive NBA D-League Honors

TULSA, Okla., May 1, 2014 - Tulsa 66ers forward Grant Jerrett was named to the NBA D-League All-Rookie Second Team and guard Mustafa Shakur was named an All-NBA D-League Honorable Mention the for the 2013-14 season, it was announced Thursday by the NBA D-League. The teams were selected by the NBA D-League's 17 head coaches.

Jerrett averaged 15.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 29.3 minutes in 27 games (25 starts) to earn his first D-League honor. The forward received a call-up to the Thunder at the conclusion of the 66ers' season by signing with Oklahoma City on April 7. The Thunder originally secured the rights to Jerrett on draft night after he was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers with the 40th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Shakur was named to an All-NBA D-League Team for the second time in his career after averaging 18.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 2.4 steals and 36.4 minutes in 23 games (22 starts) with the 66ers. The guard played his first 17 games of the season with the Erie BayHawks, bringing his 2013-14 averages to 17.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.8 steals and 34.6 minutes in 40 games (39 starts).

On March 16, Shakur signed a 10-day contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder, scoring one point while dishing out four assists in three games. Shakur was honored by the D-League earlier this season by being named the Player of the Month for February and Performer of the Week for games played March 24 through March 30.
