66ers Fall in Overtime Thriller

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Tulsa 66ers came back from a six-point deficit in the final minute of regulation, but fell to the Sioux Falls Skyforce, 107-105, in an overtime thriller on Saturday night to conclude the 2013-14 season.

Coming off of a triple-double on Friday night, Dominic McGuire posted a career-high 28 points to go with 17 rebounds and four assists. Xavier Alexander scored 19 points with nine rebounds and five assists and Chase Tapley tallied 18 points. Isaiah Wilkerson and Mario Little scored 14 and 12 points respectively.

The 66ers jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the first four minutes of the game and went on to use a 10-0 run late in the second quarter to head to halftime up 61-45.

The Skyforce began chipping away at Tulsa's lead by outscoring the 66ers 28-16 in the third quarter. Sioux Falls climbed back in the fourth to tie the game at 91 with 5:44 remaining before taking a six-point lead heading into the final minute of regulation.

Alexander and McGuire used back-to-back buckets to pull Tulsa within one before Sioux Falls' Tre Kelley made one of two foul shots with 23.9 seconds remaining. McGuire tied the game on a long three with 17.1 on the clock to tie the game. The 66ers held Sioux Falls on the next possession to force the game into overtime.

The 66ers began the three-minute overtime period with a 4-0 run but Kelley made two consecutive three-pointers in the to lift the Skyforce, sinking a game-winning shot with 11.3 seconds left.

Tulsa outrebounded the Skyforce 49-38 and dished out 23 assists.

After beginning the season with a 1-11 record, Tulsa ended the season by winning 14 of its final 21 games to hold a 24-26 record. With 24 wins, the 66ers have the second-most wins of any team that began a season 1-11 or worse in NBA D-League history. The 2008-09 Reno Bighorns finished at 25-25 after beginning 1-12.
