Erie BayHawks News Release

Erie, Pennsylvania, Wednesday, December 28 - The Erie BayHawks have added guard/forward Devin Green to their roster.

Green (6-7, 212) signed with the New York Knicks as a free agent on Dec. 12 and participated in the team's training camp before being waived on Dec. 22. Erie claimed Green's rights through the league's "Affiliate Player" rule that allows NBA Development League affiliates to acquire up to three players that were waived from their affiliate's training camp, and who do not otherwise have their rights held by another team.

Green averaged three points over 14 minutes in two preseason games with the Knicks. Green played 27 games for the L.A. Lakers in 2005-06 for a total 136 minutes. The Hampton University alum spent the last five seasons playing overseas in Germany, Italy, Belgium, Puerto Rico, China and Bulgaria. He split last season between Shanghai (China) and Lukoil Academic (Bulgaria) and averaged 18.2 points and 7.8 rebounds over 34.1 minutes for Shanghai and 13.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in 25.2 minutes for Lukoil Academic.

To create room on their roster Erie has waived forward Marvin Roberts. Erie's current active roster stands at ten players.

Four former BayHawks are currently on NBA rosters, three of which played for Erie at the start of this season: Mychel Thompson (Cleveland Cavaliers), Cory Higgins (Charlotte Bobcats) and Donald Sloan (Atlanta Hawks). Forward Ivan Johnson who played for Erie last season is also a member of the Atlanta Hawks who recorded 2 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist in a win over the New Jersey Nets on Tuesday. Erie's three Gatorade Call-ups this season is currently tops in the league.

Green will both be in uniform as Erie returns to action on Wednesday to host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, then the Los Angeles D-fenders visit Erie on Thursday. Tip-off each night is set for 7pm at Tullio Arena.
