Stampede Acquire Banks, Assigned Johnson

BOISE, Idaho, January 28, 2011 - The Idaho Stampede announced today the acquisition of Sean Banks from the NBA Development League player pool. The club was also assigned Portland Trail Blazers guard Armon Johnson, the Portland Trail Blazers announced.

Born January 20, 1985, Banks (6-8, 210, Memphis) has played 99 games (82 starts) in the NBA Development League with Tulsa, Anaheim and Los Angeles from 2005-08. In those years, he averaged 18.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. He was named an All-NBA Development League 1st Team player after the 2007-08 season.

Born February 23, 1989, Johnson (6-3, 195, Nevada) was drafted 34th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft. He has played in 28 games this season for the Blazers, averaging 3.1 points, 1.3 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 8.1 minutes per game. He scored a career-high 12 points at the Los Angeles Lakers on November 11, 2010. Johnson is the second assignee this season for the Stampede from Portland (Luke Babbitt).

Banks will wear jersey No. 12. and Johnson will wear No. 6.
