Fort Wayne Frustrates Idaho

BOISE, Idaho - Jermareo Davidson had 19 points and 11 rebounds and Carlos Wheeler added 13 points and 11 rebounds, but the Stampede scored just 33 points in the second half - including 10 in the fourth quarter - of a 99-84 loss to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at Qwest Arena on Friday night.

The Stampede (9-17) had 24 turnovers, made just 4-of-20 three-pointers and sunk only 61.5 percent (16-of-26) of its free throws.

Oliver Lafayette scored a game-high 31 points to lead the way for the Mad Ants (13-14). Marvin Phillips added 14 points and 10 rebounds off the bench as the Mad Ants overcame a 27-14 first half rebounding deficit and 55.3 percent shooting by the Stampede.

The Stampede shot just 18.2 percent (2-of-11) in the fourth quarter; Fort Wayne held Idaho to 0-of-8 from the three-point line in the second half.

Five Stampeders scored in double-figures, with Seth Tarver adding 15 and Cedric Jackson chipping in with 11 points. Lance Hurdle had 10 points off the bench. NBA assignee Armon Johnson, playing in his first game as a member of the Idaho Stampede, came off the bench to total four points, five rebounds and four assists.

Idaho finishes its season series with Fort Wayne tomorrow at Qwest Arena at 7 p.m.
