Springfield Armor News Release

SPRINGFIELD, MA - The visiting Tulsa 66ers extended their winning streak to 14 games with a 118-98 victory over the Springfield Armor tonight. The 66ers also improved to a league-best record of 22-6 with the triumph.

The 66ers had everything falling for them right from the get-go. Jerome Dyson scored a season-high 37 points, shooting 12-20 from the field and 6-9 from behind the arc. Dyson had a large contingent of friends and family in the stands as he made his first return to New England since his college days at the University of Connecticut. Tulsa combined to shoot 14 for 27 from beyond the arc, led by Dyson and Robert Vaden, who knocked down 5-9 attempts from three and finished with 15 points.

Tulsa shot 73% from three and 63% from the field in the first half to build a commanding 69-51 lead and never looked back. Latavious Williams contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds. The 66ers led by as many as 25.

"It's good to have these nights. We are a team that likes to take it to the basket," Tulsa Head Coach Nate Tibbetts said.

Tre Whitted led the Armor with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists and Gavin Edwards played well for a second consecutive night for the Armor, contributing 17 points and 8 rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench.

"I think the biggest thing is committing on the defensive end. We play hard every possession," Tibbetts said.

Springfield (9-18) now goes on a three-game west coast road trip facing the Reno Bighorns on Wednesday and the Bakersfield Jam on Friday and Saturday. The 66ers head up to Maine to play the Red Claws on Sunday in search of their 15th consecutive victory.
