Portland Trail Blazers Assign Armon Johnson to NBA D-League Affiliate Idaho Stampede

NEW YORK, Jan. 28, 2011 - Portland Trail Blazers guard Armon Johnson was assigned to the Idaho Stampede, Portland's NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today. The assignment marks the 35th time in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the first assignment for Johnson, a rookie out of Nevada.

Johnson (6-3, 195) has appeared in 28 games this season with the Trail Blazers, averaging 3.1 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 8.1 minutes. Johnson scored a season-high 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting against the Lakers on Nov. 7.

The Trail Blazers selected Johnson in the second round (34th overall) of the 2010 NBA Draft. In three seasons at Nevada, Johnson averaged 14.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 101 games. Johnson was named to the All-WAC First Team in 2008-09, and his 5.6 assists per game in 2009-10 led the conference.
