Flash Drop Second Straight to Legends

Frisco, TX - The Texas Legends used a last-second layup from Antonio Daniels on Friday night to win their second straight game over the Utah Flash 101-99 at HP Court inside Dr Pepper Arena.
With 3.5 seconds left in the game, the 12-year NBA veteran Daniels would become the hero. He would split the lane and nail a driving layup to break a 99-99 tie. With a chance to tie or win the game on the final possession, Andre Ingram missed a floater to preserve the victory for Texas.
Texas held a three-point advantage heading into the second quarter. However, with 3:48 left in the second and the Legends up by two, Utah finished the half on a 14-5 run to take a seven-point lead into the break, 57-50.
After scoring 18 points in the first half of Wednesday's game, Utah's Ronald Dupree once again dominated the opening half with 20 points. Matt Rogers had a strong first half for Texas with 15 points and six rebounds.
After trailing 76-71 with 1:31 to go in the third quarter, Texas went on an 8-0 sprint to end the period on top by three.
The Legends kept the pressure on in the fourth, by starting the period on a 5-0 run that put them up by eight. The Flash would crawl back into the game and tie it up at 97 on a Nkem Ojougboh slam dunk with 1:22 remaining in the game.
On the ensuing possession Sean Williams hit a layup to get Texas back up by two. Then with 8.4 second left, Brandon Costner got the rebound off an Orien Green missed 3-pointer and tipped it back home to tie it back up at 99, before Daniels put home the winner.
Rogers had a season-high with 23 points and a season-high 14 rebounds. In just his third game with the Legends, Dominique Johnson made his presence felt with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting.
Dupree led the way for Utah with a season-high 31 points, while Ingram and Costner added 14 points each.
With the win, Texas improved to .500 at 13-13 on the year, as Utah fell to 12-12.
Utah will continue their Texas road trip with a game against the Austin Toros on Sunday.
