Greenville Grrrowl News Release

GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers, have announced that forward MARTIN ST. PIERRE and goalie MIKE MORRISON have been reassigned by Edmonton to the Grrrowl. In a separate transaction, Greenville has placed defenseman DAN PSZENYCZNY on waivers.

Morrison and St. Pierre were called up earlier this season after the two began the year playing in Greenville. They returned in time to suit up for Greenville's game Friday night against Florida, with St. Pierre starting and registering and assist, while Morrison served as a backup goalie.

St. Pierre played 33 games this season with the Grrrowl, registering 10 goals and 29 assists. He was recalled by the Roadrunners on January 16th, and played 18 AHL games before his reassignment. The 5-9, 180-pound native of Emburn, ONT, had four goals, three assists and eight PIMs with the Road Runners this season.

Morrison was called up on New Years Day after playing the first 17 games of the season with the Grrrowl. The 6-3, 194-pound goalie out of Medford, Mass., went 9-5-2 for the Grrrowl with a 2.67 goals against average and a .923 save percentage. Morrison had one shutout with Greenville, blanking the Las Vegas Wranglers on December 14th. He put up even better numbers in Edmonton, playing with a 1.73 GAA and a .939 save percentage in 14 games with the Road Runners. He had two shutouts but got little goal support and finished with a 2-5-5 record.

Greenville completes a two-game series against the Florida Everblades Saturday, with a 7:05 p.m. face off at the BI-LO Center. For tickets, call 864-233-2525.
