Duluth, Minn. - The St. Cloud Rox headed to Duluth Tuesday night to start a three game series with the Huskies at Wade Stadium. The Rox pulled out a win to start their series with the Huskies by a final score of 6-5.

Tim Colwell was the lead off batter for the Rox as he earned a walk on seven pitches to start the first inning. Colwell would then advance to second on a ground out and scored on an error by the catcher.

Duluth tied the game up 1-1 on an error by the Rox' Kyle Murray in the bottom of the first on a similar situation the Rox were able to score on in the top of the inning.

Scoring went stagnant for three straight innings until the top of the fifth when St. Cloud regained the lead. Adam Martin started the inning off with a single to left field. Dustin Breshears followed Martin reaching first on an error by the third baseman. A sacrifice hit by Blake Headley put both runners for the Rox in scoring position and a single by Colwell scored Martin to take a 2-1 lead over the Huskies. Next up was Devin Pearson as he singled and advanced to second on an error by the catcher, also scoring Breshears. The Rox posted two back-to-back doubles to right field, one of which by Daniel Comstock for two runs and the other by Luke Weber putting the Rox up 6-1 over Duluth.

The Huskies brought the game within two runs as an early double and a single would set the Huskies up in scoring position. Three singles by Duluth brought in one run each to trail the Rox 6-4 going into the sixth.

St. Cloud made a pitching change in the bottom of the seventh bringing Alex McRae to the mound, relieving starting pitcher Kyle Murray. Duluth put up a run in the seventh making it a 6-5 game off a two-out triple by Trey Vavra. McRae would stabilize and shutdown the Huskies to hold onto a 6-5 lead for the Rox.
