Eau Claire Express News Release

Express Field Manager Dale Varsho and the Northwoods League announced today that outfielder Charlie White, who was left off the original list of players, will now represent the South Division in the Northwoods League All-Star Game next Tuesday at Carson Park.

White will replace an injured player in the South Division, but he is very worthy of being selected to compete in the game.

Entering play Tuesday, he has a .287 batting average with 10 RBIs out of the lead-off spot. That doesn't even come to close to explaining what kind of a player he is.

White is a scrappy hitter who rarely strikeouts. He is 10th in the NWL with a .429 OBS and he is fourth in the league with 22 stolen bases. He has also made some spectacular plays in center field for the Express this summer.

White will join teammate Tyler Sparger as the representatives for the host team, Express. The All-Star festivities will commence Monday with a banquet honoring the players at the Plaza Hotel and will go all the way until Tuesday with the Addeco Fan Fast, Marshfield Clinic Home Run Derby and actual game.

More to come on White's selection either Tuesday late night or Wednesday morning. All Aboard.
