OKLAHOMA CITY - The Austin Spurs fell to the Oklahoma City Blue by a final score of 126-108 on Friday night in the team's first game of the NBA G League regular season.
Two-way player Devontae Cacok posted his 10th consecutive double-double for Austin dating back to Showcase Cup play with 31 points, 13 rebounds and 5 steals, and two-way player Joe Wieskamp finished with 17 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.
Aric Holman recorded a double-double for the Spurs with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Jaylen Morris tallied 18 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks.
Scotty Hopson led Oklahoma City with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Zavier Simpson notched a double-double in the Blue's win with 17 points and 11 assists.
The 2021-22 Austin Spurs season is presented by SWBC.
NEXT UP The Austin Spurs return home to take on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Monday, Jan. 17 at 5 p.m. CT for the team's Dream Game presented by Thrivent, which will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The team will wear special-themed jerseys that will be signed and auctioned off with net proceeds benefiting Huston-Tillotson University.
