Herd Cuts Down Long Island Nets

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, beat the Long Island Nets 133-112. The Herd had a huge offensive surge in the third quarter outscoring the Nets 35-13, to go up 97-68 at the end of the third quarter. The Herd continued to build their lead throughout the fourth quarter to win, 133-112. The Herd scored a season-high 133 points.

Six Herd players scored in double digits. The Herd was led by Jeff Dowtin Jr with 31 points while Rayjon Tucker added a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds.

The Long Island Nets were led by Craig Randall II with 21 points while Jordan Crawford added 16 points.

The two teams started the game trading baskets until Tremont Waters hit a three to put the Herd up 7-6. The Herd went on a 12-5 run to go up 16-11 with 6:45 left in the quarter. The Long Island Nets battled back to tie the game 21-21 but Rayjon Tucker threw down a dunk to put the Herd back up by two. The Herd stayed in the lead until the end of the first quarter, 34-31. Jeff Dowtin Jr. led both teams with 11 points.

At the beginning of the second quarter, the Long Island Nets tied the game 39-39 but Rayjon Tucker had a driving layup and Terry Larrier hit a three to put the Herd back up 44-39. Neither team scored for two minutes until the Long Island Nets hit a two, but Jaylen Bland answered with a three-pointer. The Long Island Nets came within two points, but the Herd held them off to lead at the half 62-55. Jeff Dowtin Jr. led the Herd with 19 points while Rayjon Tucker added 12.

Jalen Lecque came out strong for the Herd scoring eight points in the first three minutes of the third quarter. The Herd went on a 21-9 run to go up by 19 points with five minutes left in the third quarter. The Nets went on a run to come within 10 points, but the Herd built their lead to be up by 22 points with one minute left. The Herd led at the end of the third quarter 97-68. Jalen Lecque scored 13 of his 21 points. Jeff Dowtin Jr. led the Herd with 29 points at the end of the third quarter.

Tremont Waters opened the fourth quarter hitting a three to put the Herd up 100-80. The Herd continued to build their lead by 27 points, 130-103 with two minutes left in the game. The Herd continued to outscore the Nets to win the game 133-112.

The Herd will play again on Sunday, January 16 on the road against the Windy City Bulls with tip-off set for 5:00 p.m. CST.
