
Vipers Fall Short to South Bay

EL SEGUNDO, California - Despite a third quarter push the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (1-1) suffered a 121-130 loss to the South Bay Lakers (1-0) on Thursday night.
Gerald Green made his debut with the Vipers and led the team with 20 points and six rebounds. Tyler Bey and Marvin Smith both finished the night with 18 points. Christian Vital obtained 17 points meanwhile Trhae Mitchell racked up 14 points and seven rebounds. Kahlil Whitney came off the bench to contribute 13 points and nine rebounds.
The game was led by South Bay's Cameron Oliver who posted 30 points and nine rebounds. Nate Pierre-Louis reached a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Five other players reached double figures: Frank Mason II (19), Chaundee Brown Jr. (18), Mason Jones (17), Andre Ingram (15) and Pierre Jackson (11).
