
Springfield Falcons Release Defenseman Steve Weinstein from ATO

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons have released defenseman Steve Weinstein from his amateur try-out contract, Falcons Director of Hockey Operations Bruce Landon announced today.
Weinstein, 24, skated in three contests after signing an ATO with the Falcons on March 23. He recorded an assist during his professional debut on March 27 against Worcester. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound defenseman also tallied 5-18-23 with six penalty minutes and a +4 plus/minus rating in 35 games this season with Bentley University of the AHA. During his four years at Bentley, Weinstein earned 14-91-105 and 36 penalty minutes. Prior to his collegiate career, the Los Angeles, California native skated in 153 contests with the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey league, posting 10-49-99 and 12 penalty minutes.
