Spinners Washed out Friday Night; Play Two Tomorrow

Lowell Spinners News Release
LOWELL, MASS. - The Lowell Spinners attempted to wait out Mother Nature, but it was not meant to be as inclement weather created unplayable field conditions and the postponement of Friday night's game between the Spinners and Staten Island Yankees at LeLacheur Park.
The game will be played as part of a single-admission double header Saturday beginning at 4pm, with gates at 3pm.
Over 2,500 people stayed to help set a new Guinness Book of World Records record for most people "fist-bumping at one time" and enjoy the scheduled post-game fireworks show a bit earlier than anticipated before heading home. The world record was accomplished by 2,604 breaking the previous record of just over 1,800. It was done in support of Liam Fitzgerald, the Bruins fist-bumping fan, who got us started on-field.
The Spinners and Yankees will play a twin bill Saturday, beginning at 4pm. Dioscar Romero (2-3, 4.86) will get the ball in Game One, while Logan Boyd (3-0, 2.92) will get the ball for the second game.
It is Super Hero Day at LeLacheur Park, with visits from Captain America and Spider-Man on the docket courtesy of Marvel Character Appearance. It's also LIAM Nation Day, presented by Winslow Technologies, in support of the local charitable organization.
Tickets for Saturday's game can be exchanged at the Spinners' Box Office to tickets for any other 2015 Lowell Spinners home game. If you receive a lesser value ticket, you will receive the difference back in Spinners Dollars. For example: you may have a $10.00 ticket and exchange it for a $7.00 seat. You will receive an additional $3.00 back as Spinners Dollars. Spinners Dollars can be used at concessions stands, the Souvenir Store and for additional ticket purchases.
For more information on the Spinners rain policy, contact the Box Office at 978-459-1702.
