Spikes Game-Used Jersey Auction to Take Place September 6

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - State College Spikes fans can celebrate the team's 10th Season in Central PA and help fight cancer at the same time during the regular season home finale at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Sunday, September 6.

Fans can place their bids in the Game-Used Jersey Auction during that night's 6:05 p.m. game against the Williamsport Crosscutters (Philadelphia Phillies), with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit Coaches vs. Cancer of Penn State.

The Spikes are putting all of their alternate blue jerseys, the only constant in the Spikes' uniform rotation for all 10 seasons, up for bids in the auction. Major league players such as Jason Motte, Tony Watson, Brock Holt, and Zach Duke, as well as numerous future baseball stars, have donned the blue jerseys during the history of the franchise.

The Game-Used Jersey Auction will be part of a jam-packed night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, which will also feature a fantastic Regular Season Grand Finale FIREWORKS show on Fan Appreciation Night. Plus, one lucky fan will win a brand-new HDTV as part of the third and final HD Weekend Giveaway, presented by Aaron's.

Single-game tickets for Sunday's game, as well as each of the final five regular season home dates remaining from September 2-6, are currently on sale through the Spikes Box Office and online at State College Spikes.com. Fans can visit the Box Office in person weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or call (814) 272-1711. Fans purchasing online have the ability to print their tickets using a home computer and printer.

Fans can also purchase Four-Game Playoff Packs in anticipation of potential Spikes home games during the New York-Penn League playoffs, which begin on Wednesday, September 9. Playoff Packs start as low as $16 per seat and include as much as a $4 per game savings off the single-game price.
