South Bay Lakers News Release
EL SEGUNDO - The South Bay Lakers have acquired Travis Wear as a returning player, it was announced today by General Manager Nick Mazzella. Wear returns to South Bay after appearing in 33 games with the team during the 2017-18 season.
Wear played 33 games (29 starts) for South Bay last season, averaging 16.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 41.9 percent from three-point range. Wear became the 20th member of the organization to receive an NBA Call-Up when he signed a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Lakers on March 2, 2018 and was later signed for the remainder of the 2017-18 season. The UCLA product appeared in 17 games for Los Angeles last season, averaging 4.4 points and 2.2 rebounds in 13.4 minutes.
In a related move, the Lakers have requested waivers on forward Kadeem Jack.
